If you've been following my Instagram, I'm sure you've noticed I've been posting a lot more beach photos. I've recently been really trying to soak up the outdoors more and use the quiet time to gather my thoughts and gain inspiration.
I really wanted to capture the beauty of the ocean but also incorporate my portrait work, so I came up with Sirens by the Sea. This way I can capture two beauties.
I wasn't sure at first if I was going to offer this package, as Perth is so windy! I need to shoot at sunset, which by then the sea breeze has well and truly come in. This particular shoot with Dani it was 40km /hr winds. I thought to myself if I can handle a shoot in these strong winds then I can handle any shoot on the beach.
Because it was sooo windy, Dani could hardly hear my directions, which led to me shouting a lot. The waves created soft sand which left Dani finding it hard to balance and pose, and sand was whipping around the place from the wind. It all felt so full on and crazy, but left us in fits of laughter. Of all days to do a photo shoot we choose the windiest!
You could never tell by the photos though, that all this was going on. The wind in this case worked in our favour and we love the messy hair and flowing dress. It added to the atmosphere of it all.
