The girl with the amazing eyes

I must say, lately I've been photographing a lot of clients with AMAZING eyes! It's not only the colour, but what the eyes say through a photograph.

Ashlee's portrait shoot was such a fun experience as always. All the photos were fantastic, but I notice in all of them, no matter how good the photo, my attention goes straight to her eyes. This got me thinking...

I believe that in portrait photography this is one of the most powerful aspects of a photograph. If you can capture a real expression, then you've got a great shot.

I never leave my clients to come up with these expressions, I direct ever single movement and look. It is my job as a professional photographer to know how to extract that particular look. In this way clients become more confident and trust in your direction. That is how I can get them to look at me like that through the lens and I know I've got a great shot. :)

Commercial Faces

 This shoot for Georgia was done for her portfolio. We created 4 looks to show variety. The first was more  a head shot, using a blue dress to make her and her beautiful eyes stand out. We made them fun with a series of funny faces too.

The next 3 looks were to show she could do catalogue or advertising. We did different facial expressions and posses. By this time Georgia had really warmed up to the camera and was just going for it! These are just a few;

The hair, make-up and styling was done by my talented team member Jomay Cao. We also used Jomay's clothing line.

Jomay Cao - Campaign

Following up from the last blog post I had done on the catalogue shoot I did for Jomay Cao, this is the campaign I photographed using incredible model Alice Lass.

Alice understood the clothes and how to move in such a way to show them off. She was knocking out amazing pose after pose after pose! She was indeed a Super Model!

I cant stress how important it is when selling your brand or products to invest in an experience model. It really does make all the difference.

The campaign photographs were to follow on from the simplicity of the catalogue, aiming for the focus to be on the clothes. Jomay also requested that they be in black and white to make the form and tailored structure of the outfits the focus. (I've included some of the colour versions as you can view the black and white on her website).

 "This season, inspiration was drawn from the simplicity of black and white photography inserted with the strength of bright, solid colour and abstract shapes."  - Jomay Cao
