A Blue Haze

Lately my work has been very much focused around studio shoots. Which have all been great and I've been perfecting my skills and different ways of being creative in the studio, but, sometimes there is nothing like getting outdoors and having a relaxed shoot amongst nature.

Daniella is one of my make-up artists and she booked in to have a shoot with me in June. However I stumbled across a beautiful bush with these blue flowers and I urged her to push the shoot earlier so I could make the most of them while they were in bloom.

This garden is my parent's, and it made me think I should start utilizing what I have around me more, and use it for inspiration. Daniella is a gorgeous girl inside and out, a good friend, a very talented make-up artist and I'm so happy that I was able to photograph her.

Sisters

A gorgeous shoot for sisters Laura and Kerry. We went for a simple classic portrait session, as the girls wanted these images to last a life time as something they could look back on. There were a lot of great images, these are just a small selection. I also photographed them separately so they could have their own photographs.

I love repeat clients!

These images are from Natalia's second shoot with me. It's so great getting to photograph your clients more then once. Nat brought even more to her shoot. She was more relaxed and had even more confidence after experience from her first shoot. It's also nice to catch up and see how everything was going. These photos are for her album. This is her year.

My lovely friend Jess booked into have a photo shoot with me. It was the perfect time in her life to do it. She's just had her 30th birthday and is about to embark on new adventures in her life. What better way to celebrate the present.

We started of the shoot on the beach at sunset, before heading into the studio. She is a beach baby so I wanted to do a shot that incorporated the ocean and had a mermaid 'feel' to it.  

Xanadu - Inner Style

 I couldn't be more happier to introduce Xanadu to you. What an inspiration.

I have recently stared yoga with them and what a beautiful journey to begin. I injured my back a few months ago and yoga has been a great help. It is also lovely way to stretch out after a day hunched over the camera or computer after editing for hours on end.

It is wonderful for the mind and I can't wait for what these the women have to teach me.

My morning shoot started out with the most spectacular sunrise. A full moon setting over the ocean while the sun was rising in the East. I was alone on the beach and I wished more had been there to see it.

When my clients arrived, we got to work quickly with a small window of soft light, before the sun came too strongly over head. I went for an artistic feel and a slow shutter wanting blur and movement in my shots to provoke a mystical feel.

The girls had stunning red dresses to compliment the red of the Kimberly. These are just a few from the shoot.

Maternity

I'm really enjoying the maternity shoots. What a wonderful way to celebrate such an important time of life. There is an excitement that comes with these shoots, of course there would be knowing that there will be an addition to the family!

The thing I'm loving most about my clients booking maternity shoots with me is the amount of coverage they receive. I capture the maternity images and couple shots which go into a gorgeous album, however I am not filling the album completely,...  I leave pages free at the end of the album so that when the baby is born we do another shoot to complete the story, and beginning of the next chapter of their lives.

These images are the first part of Stef and Micheal's story. They will be presented with the album at Stef's baby shower. I cannot wait to photograph the new addition to there family soon.
